Bruins’ Jarome Iginla Set to Play in 1,300th NHL Game

Boston Bruins forward Jarome Iginla, who scored a pair of goals in Saturday's win over the Carolina Hurricanes, is slated to play in his 1,300th NHL contest Monday night, when the Bruins host the Minnesota Wild. Once the puck drops, he'll become the 55th player in league history to hit the mark.

Among active players, only Jaromir Jagr (1,459), Teemu Selanne (1,440), Ray Whitney (1,321) and Shane Doan (1,301) have suited up for more NHL contests.

Meanwhile, Iginla has notched a team-high 23 goals for the surging Bruins, who have reeled off eight straight wins, a roll that has landed the team atop the NHL's Eastern Conference standings, with 95 points in 67 games. During the team's win streak, Iginla has been a key contributor, recording nine points.

Overall, the 36-year-old right winger has notched 53 points in 67 contests for the Bruins, good for second on the team, behind David Krejci, who centers Iginla's line.
