Miami Heat’s 2 New Year’s Resolutions

The Miami Heat are going to leave 2013 in fantastic shape.

They are currently 21-6 and have won five straight, with one of those wins coming against a fantastic Indiana Pacers team.

Still, the Heat should make a couple of vows as they enter the new year in order to increase their three-peat chances.

Let's take a look at two New Year's resolutions for Miami.

 

Stick With Dwyane Wade's Maintenance Plan

After knee issues hindered Dwyane Wade's play significantly in the 2013 postseason and he needed offseason shock treatment on both knees, the Heat have managed the three-time champion's health with extreme care this season.

Miami has routinely held Wade out of at least one game of back-to-backs and other games here and there for preventive reasons (he's missed seven total games). The Heat have operated with the thinking that keeping Wade and his knees fresh and healthy for the postseason is smarter than winning a few more regular-season contests.  

The plan could not be working better.
