Dwyane Wade Sells Sitcom to Fox, Scouting for ‘Handsome’ Actor

Dwyane Wade has dealt with plenty of stuff the past few years, and little of it warranted a laugh track.

Painful injuries.

A nasty public divorce.

Still, when it came to adapting his experiences to the small screen, Wade chose a sitcom.

"I wanted to bring some light into the dark, the dark times," Wade said.

Tuesday, before Wade sat out the game against the Atlanta Hawks to rest his knees, the news surfaced that Wade has sold his story to FOX to develop a regular 30-minute series. The show, if produced, will feature a single father with two sons—patterned on his relationship with 11-year-old Zaire and six-year-old Zion. It is a companion project of sorts to his book, A Father First.

The working title is Three the Hard Way, which is a play off his jersey number, his number of NBA championships and the number of males in his immediate family.

"I loved it," Wade said.
