In a somewhat surprising move, the Utah Jazz released veteran point guard Jamaal Tinsley on Tuesday. The roster now stands at 14, which leads to the possibility of another move for the Jazz.
Tinsley's release is surprising in the sense that Utah seemed resigned to make no moves and be horrible all season long. It's not surprising when you look at his production.
I hate to kick a guy when he's down, but Tinsley's been historically bad this season. All time, there are only five players who've appeared in eight games and averaged at least 13 minutes while somehow failing to average two points and two rebounds.
2013-14 Tinsley is on that list. Interestingly enough, Earl Watson, who played for the Jazz in 2012-13 is another member of this very specific, very unproductive group.
The question now is whether or not Utah will look for someone else to shore up what is currently the worst point guard rotation in the league.
