They did it again.
After defeating the Miami Heat and Washington Wizards to open the season, the Philadelphia 76ers took down the Chicago Bulls, 107-104, on Saturday night to improve to 3-0.
It wouldn't have been possible without the contributions of, you guessed it, rookie point guard Michael Carter-Williams, who poured in a game-high 26 points and posted a double-double with 10 assists. He also added four rebounds, three steals and four turnovers to his final line.
Although Chicago held a 15-point lead at half and led by as many as 20, a 33-19 outburst in the third quarter saw the Sixers trail by just one after three.
The Sixers went on to outscore the Bulls, 25-21, in the game's final stanza, thanks to the combined efforts of the team's closing group, one that boasted Carter-Williams, Evan Turner, Tony Wroten, Spencer Hawes and Thaddeus Young.
Turner dropped in 20-plus points for the third-straight game, and did so on 7-of-16 shooting from the floor. Hawes joined Carter-Williams in the double-double club with 18 points (8-of-11 shooting) and a team-high 11 boards.
