The Nashville Predators are certainly in the thick of things after a 5-4-1 start to the 2013 NHL season, but they may struggle to maintain that pace now that star goaltender Pekka Rinne is expected to miss at least four weeks of action, according to Josh Cooper of The Tennessean.
Predators general manager David Poile told Cooper that Rinne is dealing with a spontaneous bacterial infection in his surgically repaired hip.

According to Cooper, Rinne had an arthroscopic procedure done on his hip back in May, so he has been dealing with hip issues since the end of last season.
Rinne has been a huge part of the Preds' success over the past several years, including this season. His record of 4-4-1 doesn't jump off the page, but his 2.31 goals-against average and .917 save percentage are both solid.
