Dwight Howard is a free agent, and we're in for a treat over the next two weeks as he decides whether to take his talents to another city or stay in Los Angeles during the prime of his career.
D12 is easily the biggest name on the free-agent market this offseason, a fact cemented by the Los Angeles Clippers' numerous attempts to upgrade their roster this offseason and keep Chris Paul in town. CP3 is a free agent too, but Doc Rivers should make it hard for the star point guard to slip away.
Back to Howard—after a "down" 2012-13 regular season that included averages of 17.1 points and 12.4 rebounds (an NBA high), Howard will field calls from multiple suitors over the course of the next several days.
Dave McMenamin of ESPN Los Angeles reported on Friday that Howard is expected to make his decision on July 10, giving him very little time to hear the different pitches that multiple teams (including his current one) are prepared to offer when it comes to courting his game for the upcoming season.
