As the Sacramento Kings prepare to delve into their future, past the uncertainty of the 2012-13 season that cast doubt on where they would play next season, the city and the fans celebrate a team that won just 28 games this season.
It's hard to imagine that anybody in basketball is happier than Kings fans simply for the privilege of still having a professional basketball team in their backyard. It's probably a pretty good feeling to have some new owners on the horizon as well.
The Kings started to give thanks to the people that helped them stay in Sacramento with a simple 90-second clip that plays when you go to the team's official website.
Fans chanting "Here we stay!" along with Chris Webber and Sacramento mayor Kevin Johnson are joined by clips of the good old days accompanied by some sappy music and a voiceover by play-by-play man Grant Napear to create a clip that easily sums up the fight that the city went through to keep their team.
They haven't been in Sacramento forever, but the people in the city have grown to love the team, and moving them would have been a tragedy.
