NHL Players Play Ping Pong for Concussion Research

Dominic Moore and the NHLPA teamed up to create a charity table tennis tournament to raise funds and awareness for concussion research. July 12th, 2012 marked the first ever Smashfest Charity Ping Pong Challenge at the Steam Whistle Brewery in Toronto.

The event drew NHL stars like Steven Stamkos, Vincent Lecavalier, Eric Lindros, Jason Spezza, Brett Connolly, Logan Couture, Zenon Konopka, Teddy Purcell, Ryan Shannon, Daniel Winnik and more.

Fans were able to purchase tickets and were randomly selected to compete in a doubles tournament with the players. Then the players faced off in a singles tournament for the championship title. By the end of the night, they had managed to raise over $20K for their cause.
