Five days after officially returning to the NHL, Peter Forsberg will make his Colorado Avalanche debut tonight.

Forsberg will be in the Avalanche's line-up as they visit the Columbus Blue Jackets and will reportedly skate on a line with Matt Duchene and Milan Hejduk.

"We're hoping he can help create some offense for us," said Avalanche head coach Joe Sacco, whose club has scored only five times in its last four games.

This will be the 2003 MVP winner's third stint with the Avalanche, playing with the club from 1995-2004 and again during the 2007-08 season.

In 706 career games, Forsberg has scored 249 goals and 636 assists for a total of 885 points.

In 12 career games against the Blue Jackets, Forsberg has seven goals and 13 assists.

Having lost seven of its last eight games, the Colorado Avalanche sit 14th in the Western Conference.
