New Orleans Hornets vs. New Jersey Nets: Jordan Farmar, Bench Get Nets a Win

When the New Jersey Nets won four out of five games near the end of January, stellar bench play was a huge factor.

After getting that fourth win in a game against Memphis, Jordan Farmar, New Jersey's backup point guard, missed the next six contests with a lower back injury. The bench struggled to produce with Farmar out and the team went 1-5 during that stretch.

If there was any doubt as to how valuable the ex-Laker is to this team, we need look no further than what happened Wednesday night against the New Orleans Hornets, when the Nets, riding a three-game losing streak, found their way back into the win column with a 103-101 overtime victory.

Returning from his brief absence, Farmar proceeded to hand out 11 assists to go along with his eight points, actually outplaying the star point guards of the game, Devin Harris (two points, six assists, four turnovers) and Chris Paul (nine points, 11 assists, seven turnovers).
