Boston Bruins Drop a Tough One in Shootout at Atlanta Thrashers

When the Boston Bruins lost in a shootout against the Thrashers on Thursday night in Atlanta, they lost their three-game winning streak as well. As Atlanta stole the extra point, it also snapped its own four-game losing streak.

Thrashers forwards Tim Stapleton and Bryan Little each scored against goalie Tim Thomas in the shootout to give the Thrashers the victory.

On the first shot in the shootout, Stapleton, who has not scored a point this year, sneaked the puck right in between Thomas' legs.

The Bruins have two games left on this five-game road trip; they've gone 2-0-1 so far.

"Five out of six points is pretty good, but we wanted that extra point at the end," center Patrice Bergeron said to the press following the team's shootout loss.

The B's look to get back on track next year—or should I say this Saturday—against the Buffalo Sabres.
