Los Angeles Rookie of the Year candidate Blake Griffin had a record-breaking performance on Saturday in a game against the the New York Knicks, but it was not enough as the Los Angeles Clippers lost to the New York Knicks by a score of 124-115 before a home crowd at the Staples Center on Saturday.

Griffin, the leading candidate for Rookie of the Year honors in the NBA this season, came out of the loss with 44 points, 15 rebounds, 7 assists, two steals, and one blocked shot. Griffin's performance was nothing short of spectacular as he continues to show why he was the obvious first pick of the Los Angeles Clippers in the 2009 NBA Draft.

Griffin totally dominated every aspect of game from the power forward position but was not able to help the Los Angeles Clippers get their second win of the season.  The Clippers fell to a record of one win against 13 losses despite the incredible performance by Griffin and third-year shooting guard Eric Gordon.

Gordon, had 25 points and 4 assists for the Clippers as they continue a terrible season where they are in last place of the Pacific division.
