Whenever Northern and Southern California teams play each other, emotions run high. In a tense and physical match, the San Jose Sharks showed off their offensive prowess in a 5-2 win.
After a shaky start, the San Jose Sharks have found their grove.
San Jose started the 2010 season with two straight losses at home but have come back strong beating New Jersey and Anaheim, both by the score of 5-2.
The big difference has been the great play of Antero Niittymaki. Niemi started the season as the No. 1 net minder but struggled. Niittmaki has come in and made an instant difference. He finished Saturday's game with 22 saves, and a few of those came in a fast paced third period where the Ducks threaten to come back into the game.
Offensively, the Sharks wasted no time. Dany Heatley continued his scoring streak, scoring a goal in the first minute of regulation. He would add a second goal and an assist later in the game.
