A lot of things are happening or expected to happen in the NHL right now, here is the latest.

 

News

Evgeni Nabokov has signed a four-year contract that will pay him $6 mil per season with St. Petersburg of the KHL.

Like I said yesterday Ilya Kovalchuk does not want to go to the KHL as he only would if it is last option. Unless something huge comes up, he will sign with the Devils or the Kings (who have just jumped back in the frenzy).

The Washington Capitals have signed defenseman Jeff Schultz to a four year contract extension. Schultz is coming off his best season in the NHL last season as he finished the season a shocking + 50.

According to Dmitry Chesnokov of Y! Sports, the Philadelphia Flyers have signed forward Nikolai Zherdev, terms of the contract are unknown at this point.

The Buffalo Sabres have signed forward Rob Niedermayer to a one-year contract.

The Carolina Hurricanes have signed defenseman Joe Corvo to a 2 year deal that will earn him $2.25 mil per season.
