The Milwaukee Bucks pulled off a trade with the Warriors Tuesday afternoon that brought forward Corey Maggette to Milwaukee in exchange for guard Charlie Bell and center Dan Gadzuric.
In addition to the versatile Maggette, the Bucks received the Warriors' 44th pick in Thursday's draft. That gives the Bucks three picks in the second round (37, 44, and 47) along with a first round pick (15) they received from the Chicago Bulls earlier in the season as part of the John Salmons trade.
The trade is a win for the Bucks on multiple levels. First, they get an athletic swingman they've been in desperate need of. Second, they unload two contracts in Bell and Gadzuric that were basically just taking up space on the roster.
Maggette still has three years and nearly $31 million on his contract. He averaged 19.8 points and 5.3 rebounds for the Warriors last season. The 11-year veteran signed with the Warriors in July 2008, but had been rumored to be on the trade block for quite some time.
