Fans would like to see Paul Pierce and Ray Allen appear in their own TV series, some kind of thriller with action, violence, suspense and a happy ending.

One idea calls for Ray Allen and Paul Pierce to do an updated version of the classic teenage detective series, The Hardy Boys.

This time the new TV series would feature weekly adventures in the NBA. The Finals premise is still up in the air.

Paul and Ray would portray teenage brothers into health and fitness who grow up to become professional basketball players.

They live in the fictional town of Hub City with their fatherly mentor, Coach Doc Rivers and wacky Uncle Danny Ainge.

Hub City is a place where the amazing has happened 17 times.

Ray is the older brother by two years. School championships are never mentioned in the series, though both apparently were All-Stars at different colleges.

In many episodes, the boys are determined to bring another championship to the Hub. Their wise Coach often expresses surprise at how they can play at a high level, despite advancing years.

The new Hardy Boys are in better shape than anyone else who plays basketball. They are supple and endlessly energetic.

In one episode, a dastardly villain named LeBron from Miami tries to discover whether the boys have found a secret water bubbler in a show called: “The Mystery of The Fountain of Youth.”

In another episode they defeat foul-mouthed Kobe from Los Angeles with “The Case of the Hot Tub Time Machine.”

The boys live in an atmosphere of intrigue and mystery, surrounded by the evil media that are constantly spying on them at practice and while they try to rest.

In the pilot episode, they stop a member of the press from breaking into their attic to discover if they have hidden an old painting, which shows them as decrepit old men.

Ray and Paul never show the signs of old age as the Hardy Boys during any playoff game.

The media accuse the boys of having a painting called “Portrait of NBA Champs,” painted by some weird dude named Dorian Gray. It ages horribly while they stay pristine and young.

Other episodes in development are likely to be called “The Mystery of Shaq’s Achilles Tendon,” and “The Rondo Conundrum.”

The highlight of the series is when they team up with older brother Kevin Garnett in “Ghost of Championships Past.”

In each thrilling episode, Paul and Ray swap the opportunity to toss the winning jumper with seconds left on the shot clock as the boys go on and on from one victory to another.

The show could be expected to draw big numbers, especially with the looming cancellation of the ever-popular “New England Patriots & Their Mysterious Coach,” in the upcoming season.

Alas, network honchos dismissed the idea of Paul and Ray playing youthful heroes as “too unbelievable.”
