Toronto Maple Leafs Kris Versteeg: Ripening Golden Apple or Lemon?

Kris Versteeg was supposed to add another dimension of offense to the Leafs, though he has yet to produce.

After playing the preseason and first seven games on the top line with Tyler Bozak and Phil Kessel, he’s now been dropped to the second line.

If you play fantasy you might have noticed he’s a minus 34.1, meaning people are dropping him from their teams like a loud, fat, annoying, broke girlfriend with a crack addiction, yeah fast!

In his eight games, Versteeg has only one goal and one assist while having the fourth most shots on the team (17).

Five of those shots came last night in a win against the Panthers while playing with his new line mates, Clarke MacArthur and Mikhail Grabovski, which I think will benefit him.

While playing with Kessel, who’s had a hot hand since he put on his skates this year, Versteeg was passing the puck to Kessel as was Bozak.
