Report: NHL Targeting January 19th as Start Date for the Season

Perhaps we have received a bit more optimism as NHL fans today, following the news that the NHL has offered another proposal to the NHLPA.

Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News tweeted this:

I'm hearing NHL has targeted Jan. 19 as potential start date. Would like week-long camp. Wants this deal done by Jan. 10, 11.

Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reported this on Twitter:

 

My sources say owners have privately informed Bettman cancelling the season is not an acceptable option.

He also tweeted:

The players will have a conference call this afternoon to discuss and outline the offer. #NHL#NHLPA

Garrioch also stated on Twitter that he is hearing that the league would want to open camp on January 12th if they were able to get a deal done.
