Ranking the Top 50 NHL Prospects

With the 2015 NHL draft in the books, it is a perfect time to reevaluate the league’s top young players. We have compiled a list of the top 50 prospects with many of the recent draftees cracking the ranking.

To qualify for the list, a player must be under the age of 23 and have played no more than 39 games in the NHL. Most players in the ranking have yet to play a single NHL game, but there are some exceptions, such as Edmonton Oilers prized pick Leon Draisaitl and Pittsburgh Penguins defensive prospect Derrick Pouliot.

Our rankings are based on a combination of many factors, including long-term upside, raw skill and what the prospect has accomplished thus far in his career.
