Canucks GM Comments on Potential Subban Deal Saturday, June 25 "Yeah, we've been one of the teams that have talked to them," Canucks general manager Jim Benning said Thursday, per TSN Radio Vancouver on Twitter (h/t TheScore.com). "It's a high price, he's a true No. 1 defenseman." TSN Radio provided more from Benning, "We do our due diligence, but it's a long ways from completing a deal like that."

However, TSN's Darren Dreger reported Saturday that "Benning will be fined for his public comments on Steven Stamkos and [Subban], although Benning's intent wasn't malicious."

Subban Trade Reportedly Unlikely on Draft Night Friday, June 24 According to ESPN's Pierre LeBrun, it is a long shot for the Habs to deal Subban on draft night due to a lack of quality offers.
