NHL Trade Rumors: Philadelphia Flyers Interested in Acquiring Tomas Vokoun?

Tomas Vokoun has been the subject of many recent trade rumors. He was rumored to be traded to a few teams, and then for a while it looked as though he would sign a contract extension and stay with the Florida Panthers.

Now that the NHL Trade Deadline is just two days away, the Tomas Vokoun rumors have come back to life. Earlier rumors suggested that the Washington Capitals were making a serious pitch for him, and it seemed like one of the more logical rumors given the fact that Alexander Semin has been reportedly on the block for some time now.

Today, however, in the wake of the Philadelphia Flyers claiming Nick Boynton off of waivers, the Flyers don't sound like they are completely done with making moves. The latest rumor out of Philly is that the Flyers may be making a pitch for Florida's Tomas Vokoun and one of their forwards may be part of the deal.

I'm not too sure how I feel about this honestly. Right now the Flyers seem to be in a very good position to make a deep playoff run. Although Tomas Vokoun would certainly shore up any goaltending problems, losing a forward could really tamper with team chemistry. It has been rumored that newl ...
