NHL Trade Rumors: Latest on Cam Fowler, Kevin Shattenkirk and More

While the huge trade between the Montreal Canadiens and Nashville Predators involving P.K. Subban and Shea Weber dominated the news Wednesday, per SportsCenter, there are several more legitimate trade possibilities as the NHL approaches the free-agency signing period on Friday.

Anaheim Ducks defenseman Cam Fowler has many of the desirable skills of a key blueliner. He has the ability to carry the puck from his end through the neutral zone and into the offensive zone and create scoring opportunities for himself and his teammates. 

The 24-year-old did not excel last year when he recorded five goals and 23 assists for the Ducks with a minus-eight rating, but he has scored as many as 40 points in a season and is a viable trade commodity.

The Detroit Red Wings are among the teams that are interested in trading for Fowler, according to Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press.

Detroit general manager Ken Holland made a key move last week when he traded the contract of Pavel Datsyuk to the Arizona Coyotes. That move gives the Red Wings more freedom to make trades and sign free agents during the offseason.& ...
