NHL Power Rankings: B/R Experts’ Week 9 Poll

The dropoff that some expected for the New York Rangers just isn't happening. A team that before the season looked on the wrong side of things in a cyclical sense continues to cycle upward.

The Blueshirts, therefore, are our new No. 1 team in the power rankings. It is well-deserved too. The numbers continue to be very impressive, besides the won-loss record. The Rangers aren't squeaking by in most victories, not relying on just a hot goalie. Their 95 goals for and 65 goals against proves it: The Rangers are crushing it still.

There are some other hot teams, including the Columbus Blue Jackets, Philadelphia Flyers and even the New York Islanders. All three moved up from last week.

Our panel of voters for the 30 spots included yours truly, Carol Schram, Allan Mitchell and Lyle Richardson.

As always, let us hear it if you think we erred. The floor is yours.
