NHL Free Agents 2011: Chicago Blackhawks Resign Frolik and Add Sami Lepisto

The Chicago Blackhawks website reported Friday that they have come to terms with free agent Michael Frolik. The deal is for three years, $7 million. The cap hit would be $2.3 million for each season. Frolik is a top-nine forward for the Blackhawks.

23 year-old Frolik posted three goals and six assists with the Chicago Blackhawks this season, since he was acquired February 9th from Florida. Combining all of his stats from last season, Frolik compiled 11 goals and 27 assists in 80 regular season games.

The Blackhawks also added 26 year-old defenseman Sami Lepisto. He spent the 2010-2011 season with the Phoenix Coyotes, followed by the Columbus Blue Jackets. He posted 4 goals and 12 assists in 70 regular season games last year.
