NHL Buzz: Willie Mitchell Expected To Make Decision Soon

Willie Mitchell is expected to make his playing decision today or tomorrow. The Washington Capitals, San Jose Sharks, LA Kings, and Vancouver Canucks continue to express interest. I personally think he will sign in Washington, but I certainly wouldn't be shocked if he signed elsewhere.

If Kevin Bieksa is indeed traded the Canucks would want either an NHL forward (top-six or bottom) and prospects or draft picks.

It is expected that the Pittsburgh Penguins will move Evgeni Malkin to the wing and move Jordan Staal up to the second line center position. I think this is a great move for the Penguins as their wingers are not very strong, to say the least.

Penguins GM Ray Shero will soon make a decision on if he wants to bring Billy Guerin back to the team.

I haven't heard much (good or bad) on the Kaberle situation since his father called out Ron Wilson. Like I said yesterday when Ken Beckett (Leafs writer for Hockeybuzz) asked Brian Burke about it, he declined to comment.

There is nothing new on the Kovalchuk front, the two camps (Devils and Kovalchuk) are still in talks but it is unknown how close they are. UPDATE: ...
