As all of you know the Devils are restructuring a new contract with Ilya Kovalchuk. Kovalchuk's main option is to re-sign in New Jersey so it should only be a matter of time before he is officially a part of the New Jersey Devils.

The NHL is investigating several long-term front loaded contracts (Marc Savard, Roberto Luongo, Marion Hossa, Chris Pronger). Personally, I don't think the NHL will do anything as this would cause a huge amount of commotion and all of the contracts are already at least one year in.

The St. Louis Blues really like Ryan Potulny, rumor has it the Maple Leafs do as well but only on a two-way contract.

The Maple leafs, Oilers, Blackhawks, Blues, Islanders, and Penguins are all interested in Tim Kennedy. Like Potulny, the Maple Leafs want a two-way contract.

I am told that the Islanders, Coyotes, and Penguins are among the teams interested in Lee Stempniak.

I can confirm that both the Sharks and Blue Jackets are among the teams interested in Tomas Kaberle. Like I have said for the last two to three weeks, I still think he is traded by August 15th (four days to go).
