Chris Vivlamore of the AJC reports that the Atlanta Thrashers are close to an extension with RFA forward Bryan Little. It is also worth noting that the Thrashers are also in talks with Niclas Bergfors regarding a contract extension.

Both the hockey world and Eric Belanger continue to sit here and wait for the Washington Capitals to move a player (Tomas Fleischmann).

Ken Beckett (Maple Leafs writer for Hockeybuzz) stated via twitter that he asked Leafs GM Brian Burke about the Kaberle situation, Burke was unwilling to comment. Take that as you will, but usually when GM's say they won't comment that means they're up to something. I personally think this Kaberle saga is going to open up once again.

The Sharks continue to look for another top-four defenseman. Willie Mitchell and Kevin Bieksa are their main targets right now but if they can't get them, dare I say it, they could look the Tomas Kaberle route again.

Dmitry Chesnokov of Yahoo! Sports is reporting that former Montreal Canadien and current Nashville Predator Sergei Kostitsyn played a preseason game for a Belorussian club.
