The Washington Capitals have re-signed forward Eric Belanger to a one-year deal worth $1.85 million.

The deal will be announced after the Washington Capitals make another transaction. James Mirtle of The Globe and Mail suggests that they could be adding a defenseman. He suggested Kevin Bieksa, Sheldon Souray, and Willie Mitchell are possible targets.

Lyle Richardson (Spector's Hockey) suggested via his twitter account that the Washington Capitals could move Tomas Fleischmann for a defenseman.

Adam Mair, and Shean Donovan are among the depth forwards who are still looking for work. I think they will all find work sooner or later, as they are very useful players and would sign cheap.

Rumors the Kings have offered Dustin Brown to the Maple Leafs are 100 percent false. No chance they move Brown. He is a 25-year-old captain who has had a 30-plus goal season. No chance the Maple Leafs get that for a defenseman in the final year of his contract.
