Mr. Playoffs: Detroit Red Wings’ Johan Franzen

No one has scored more playoff goals in the last three years than Johan Franzen, who is tied with teammate Henrik Zetterberg for 31 in that time span, but Franzen has done it playing six games less.

Malkin has 29 goals and Crosby has 27 goals in the last three playoffs. Franzen has scored 59 points in 51 playoff games the last three years. Hopefully for the Wings, Franzen can regain his playoff magic, because he has struggled putting the puck in the net since he scored five goals against Ottawa on February 2nd.

Although Franzen lead the Wings with 28 goals this year, he has only scored two goals in the 27 games after scoring five against the Senators. Normally there would be concern with the lack of goal scoring from the player that is the top goal scorer on the team, but the playoffs are here and Detroit fans expect Franzen to start filling the nets with rubber again.

In the last three regular seasons, Franzen has scored a respectable 72 goals and 63 assists for 135 points in 174 games and a .78 point-per-game pace. In the playoffs in those three years, he is on a 1.15 point-per-game pace.
