Jakub Voracek Looking to Earn Philadelphia Flyers’ 1st Art Ross Trophy

With 76 points through his first 72 games of the season, Philadelphia Flyers forward Jakub Voracek has a chance to be come the first player in franchise history to win the Art Ross Trophy, which is given annually to the NHL's leader in points, per CSN Philadelphia.

Oddly enough, Flyers legend Eric Lindros actually tied Jaromir Jagr atop the league leaderboard with 70 points in 1994-95, but Jagr took home the award on a tiebreaker for scoring more goals.

Jagr, of course, was playing for the archrival Pittsburgh Penguins at the time, making Lindros' narrow defeat all the more obnoxious to the Philadelphia faithful.

The Art Ross Trophy competition may again come down to the two Pennsylvania franchises this season, as Pittsburgh Penguins forward Sidney Crosby currently sits three points ahead of Voracek with a league-leading 79.

Also in the mix are New York Islanders forward John Tavares (77), Washington Capitals forward Alexander Ovechkin (75), Dallas Stars forward Jamie Benn (74) and Washington Capitals forward Nicklas Backstrom (73), heading into Tuesday night's action.
