Flyers Host Devils, “The Hammer” To Be Honored

The New Jersey Devils have been the NHL’s version of the “road warriors”, going a perfect 9-0 away from the swamp. The Flyers will do their best to be the first team to knock off the Devils this evening, and with James Van Riemsdyk expected to be back in the lineup, they have as good a shot as any team out there.

 

The Flyers are coming off a tough 3-2 loss to the defensively oriented Buffalo Sabres Saturday night game, where the Flyers were asleep at the wheel for the first period and seemingly uninterested in putting forth the effort to beat the highly-touted Hawks.

 

Ray Emery is expected to get the nod in net for the Flyers. In his past six games, Emery has a record of 5-1 and has given up just nine goals. Clearly, Emery has played well enough to be considered amongst the NHL’s elite goaltenders and, as such, is ...
