Detroit Red Wings: How They Match Up Against Potential First-Round Opponents

The playoffs are just around the corner and the feel is in the air.

The Wings currently sit in third place of the Western Conference with just two more games remaining.

With the chance of them finishing in second still possible, the Wings still don't know who their first-round opponent will be.

On top of that, with the tightness of the Western Conference picture from eighth to 10th, no one really knows who will be in the playoffs.

Calgary Flames are currently in ninth but have just one game left and are two points out. Seems like they can make it, but the best they can end with is a tie with Chicago, who is currently in eighth place, and Chicago owns the tiebreaker between them.

Dallas sits in 10th but are four points out but still have three games to play.

Fourth to seventh looks like this: LA Kings (98), Nashville Predators (97), Phoenix Coyotes (97), Anaheim (95).

Every spot is still up for grabs as teams fourth through eighth still have two games remaining.
