Patric Hornqvist netted the overtime winner just 2:34 into the extra frame to lift the Pittsburgh Penguins to a 3-2 victory over the Washington Capitals on Wednesday night in Game 4 of their Eastern Conference semifinal series.

The Penguins lead the best-of-seven series 3-1 with Game 5 scheduled for Saturday night in Washington.

Hornqvist was in the right place at the right time when the puck deflected off Capitals defenseman Mike Weber and landed right on his stick for the shot that pushed Washington's once-promising season to the brink.

Trevor Daley and Matt Cullen also scored for Pittsburgh.

Jay Beagle and John Carlson lit the lamp for Washington.
