VANCOUVER--What has been the difference in the newest version of the Vancouver Canucks compared to the same time last year?

Let us take a quick look at who's in and who's out in the bottom-six roles:

October 2009:

Manny Malhotra, Mark Parrish and Dave Scratchard were invited on professional tryouts with the hockey club. Malhotra quickly left UBC and caught on with the Sharks training camp and signed a contract with the club soon after. Neither Parrish or Scratchard managed to hang on with the Canucks.

Kyle Wellwood was signed to a 1-year deal worth 1.2mil. Steve Bernier was on his second year of a 3-year deal worth a total of $7.5 million. Darcy Hordichuk, Rick Rypien, Ryan Johnson remained as fourth line incumbents.

In camp, Jannik Hansen, 23, stood out and became a Canucks top call-up, reserve option as season stood on.

Mason Raymond and Tanner Glass were two other players trying to prove themselves that they belong on the team. Raymond had to prove he can utilize his speed to create havoc and put in some points, while Tanner Glass had to continue to impress the coaches he can play in-your-face and not afraid ...
