Boston Bruins’ Patrice Bergeron Records 500th Career Point

Boston Bruins center Patrice Bergeron recorded the 500th point of his career during Saturday's 4-1 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs, reaching the milestone with an assist on Carl Soderberg's power-play goal in the first period.

Bergeron, who now has one goal and five assists through 10 games this season, would later add another assist in the third period, bringing his career total to 501 points. He has 184 goals and 317 assists in 10-plus seasons and has spent his entire career with the Bruins.

A 29-year-old former second-round draft pick, Bergeron is one of just 13 players to accumulate 500 or more points in a Boston uniform, joining a group that's led by legendary defenseman Ray Bourque, who tallied a franchise-record 1,506 points.

Bergeron's 184 goals place him just 19th in team history, but his 317 assists are good for 13th place. Meanwhile, his career plus/minus rating of 106 ranks 27th in Bruins history, well below the franchise-record 589 compiled by Hall of Fame defenseman Bobby Orr.
