Bill Guerin Headed to Free Agency: Where Could He Go?

On Thursday morning, a number of media outlets reported that the Pittsburgh Penguins surprised veteran forward Bill Guerin by informing the 38-year-old that he would not be invited back for 2010-11.

After making $2 million last year, Guerin posted nine points in 11 playoff games, following a 45 point regular season which included 21 goals.

With the veteran hitting the market, there could be a couple teams with interest despite a relatively slow August in free agency (until the last three days).

 

Los Angeles Kings

Guerin plays right wing, which isn't much of a need for the Kings right now. However, his price tag and experience might make him a solid checking line option on a young team.

 

Atlanta Thrashers

The Thrashers have added a number of players this summer, mostly from Chicago, but could use another 20-goal scorer and veteran.

 

Colorado Avalanche
