On Friday afternoon, the Edmonton Oilers and Andrew Cogliano agreed to terms on a new one-year contract worth $1M.

Cogliano, 23, scored 23 points (10 goals,18 assists) in 82 games last year. He has 111 points (46 goals, 65 assists) in 246 career NHL games.

Once the 25th overall selection in the 2005 NHL Draft, Cogliano averaged 14:11 at center last year and will now likely be asked to fill the void left by the departed Ryan Potulny, who signed a one-year, two-way deal with Chicago on Thursday.
