2010 NHL Rumors: Could David Krejci Be Traded To the Toronto Maple Leafs?

Much has been made of the two new trade offers the Toronto Maple Leafs received this week, which Leafs general manager Brian Burke described as "solid hits."

Many people have been speculating as to who is involved in this offers; is it Tomas Kaberle? Francois Beauchemin? Mikhail Grabovksi? Another questions is which team; Boston? New Jersey?

Most fans and media members have come to their own little conclusions, saying that Blake Wheeler and/or Jamie Langenbrunner and/or Brian Rolston are all likely being offered to the Leafs. One name that has yet to really surface, however, is Boston Bruins centre David Krejci.

Krejci, who has been centering the Bruins' top line during the absence of Marc Savard, would come with a salary cap hit of $3.75 million. Boston has little to no cap space remaining, something that they need in order for them to take Savard and Marco Sturm off the injured reserve.

A deal sending Krejci out-of-town would likely free up cap space for the Bruins, albeit not enough to bring back both Savard and Sturm.
