Will Barton Invited to Take Part in 2016 NBA Slam Dunk Contest

Denver Nuggets guard Will Barton has been selected to participate in the 2016 NBA All-Star Slam Dunk Contest, per Chris Haynes of Cleveland.com. Barton is in the midst of the best year of his career, averaging career highs of 15.6 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.4 assists.

The dunk contest will be the final event of All-Star Weekend prior to the actual game. Barton and the other participants will attempt to bring the rim down at 8:30 p.m. ET on Feb. 13 in Toronto. The 25-year-old was asked on Feb. 1 if he would like to be invited and made it clear he wouldn't think about turning down an offer, per Christopher Dempsey of the Denver Post.

“I mean, if they asked me, I would do it,” Barton said. “It’s just how I feel about it. But I don’t have too many feelings about it.”
