The 2013 Sprite Slam Dunk Contest will take place on February 16 inside Houston's Toyota Center.

And it will once again do so without basketball's biggest names.

But fear not, fellow hoop lovers, this doesn't mean we'll be left with a diminished product.

With so many great athletes with superhero hops and nothing but time on their hands to draw up ridiculous throwdowns, the NBA will not disappoint.

If he wasn't already on the radar, than Toronto Raptors rookie Terrence Ross nominated himself with this masterful putback jam.

With the ominous "Brook-lyn" chants reaching deafening decibel levels inside the Barclays Center, Ross broke from the short corner, raced around his defender and finished with a sneaky baseline flush.

The 6'6", 195-pound wing out of the University of Washington is still searching for a solidified role in Toronto (17 minutes per game), but it won't take many more plays like this to force his way further into coach Dwane Casey's rotation.

Ross finished the night with just four points, but added nine rebounds in nearly 23 minutes of action.
