Watch All of Klay Thompson’s 37 Points Scored in the 3rd Quarter vs. Sacramento

January 24th, 2015 by Tristan Thornburgh Leave a reply »

On Friday evening, Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson set an NBA record for points in a quarter by scoring 37 in the third in the Warriors' 126-101 win over the Sacramento Kings.

Thompson, who went 9-of-9 from three-point range during the quarter and scored 52 points on the night, topped the record previously held by Carmelo Anthony and George Gervin, each of whom scored 33 points.

Thompson set a new standard for heat-checking in the quarter, and his swagger and demeanor showed that he was a man possessed. The only thing more entertaining than watching Thompson pull up and hit from everywhere is his teammates' reactions (in particular Stephen Curry).
