November 4th, 2014 by Sean Hojnacki Leave a reply »
The Washington Wizards visited the New York Knicks Tuesday, and in a tale of two very different halves, the Wizards prevailed 98-83.

The Knicks owned a 45-40 lead at halftime, but it all went pear-shaped in the third quarter, as they got outscored by the Wizards 32-15. While the hosts picked themselves up off the canvas, they simply couldn't punch their way back to victory.

Paul Pierce and Garrett Temple shared the scoring lead for Washington with 17 points apiece. Iman Shumpert put down 19 points (6-11 shooting) for New York, while an erratic Carmelo Anthony finished with 18 points (8-23 shooting) and seven turnovers.

Both teams have just played their first of four games in five nights. Up next, Washington hosts the Indiana Pacers, whiel New York visits the Detroit Pistons.
