Tony Allen Injury: Updates on Grizzlies Forward’s Hamstring and Return

Memphis Grizzlies forward Tony Allen is listed as questionable for Wednesday night's Game 5 matchup with the Golden State Warriors due to a sore left hamstring.

Allen Questionable for Game 5 Ronald Tillery of the Commercial Appeal reported the news:



Allen, 33, was limited to 16 minutes in Monday's 101-84 loss after appearing to tweak his hamstring in the third quarter. He finished with four points and five rebounds. For the series, Allen is averaging 9.0 points and 4.5 rebounds, including a 15-point performance in Game 1.

Of course, Memphis is far more worried about Allen's status for what his absence would mean to its defense. Perhaps the NBA's best on-ball defender, Allen has done an excellent job of frustrating Stephen Curry all series long. Curry is shooting significantly worse—especially from three-point range—with Allen on the floor, per NBA.com.

Mike Conley, who is battling through a facial injury to play in this series, would likely see a majority of the Curry duty if Allen's hamstring forces him to miss Game 5.   &nbs ...
