Thabo Sefolosha Injury: Updates on Hawks F’s Leg and Recovery

Atlanta Hawks forward Thabo Sefolosha remains questionable for the start of the 2015-16 NBA season due to injuries allegedly suffered in an incident outside a New York City club in April.

Status Uncertain as Recovery Continues Tuesday, June 16 Ian Begley of ESPN.com provided the latest from Sefolosha:



Jeff Zillgitt of USA Today passed on a statement from Sefolosha in April that said the forward had suffered a broken right fibula and ligament damage in his right leg as a result of an altercation with New York City police. He was charged with resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration and disorderly conduct.

He spoke with Kevin Arnovitz of ESPN.com in early June about his recovery:

I had surgery about a month ago, so it's a slow process. It's my first surgery, so I don't know the exact timeline and how the recovery is going to be. But I expect there are going to be some long months ahead. Right now, I can slowly start putting some weight on my leg, so I'm a little bit more mobile, which really helps.
