Terrence Jones Involved in Car Accident: Latest Details, Comments and Reaction

Houston Rockets forward Terrence Jones was involved in a car accident Wednesday on his way to the team's flight and will miss Thursday's game against the Phoenix Suns, according to the Houston Chronicle's Jonathan Feigen. 

Citing a source, Feigen reported Jones was not hurt in the accident "but the team opted to let him sit out the one-game trip to play the Suns."

Jones once appeared to be on the fast-track toward being labeled an ascendant talent, but his production has dipped some this season. 

After shooting better than 50 percent from the field during the 2013-14 and 2014-15 seasons, Jones is converting a career-worst 45.1 percent of his shots. His scoring average has also dropped more than two points from last season. 



Of late, Jones hasn't just struggled to produce in the box score. He's also faced a higher barrier to entry when it's come to seeing regular playing time. Since the Los Angeles Clippers traded Josh Smith to the Rockets Jan. 22, Jones has played more than 20 minutes in a single game twice.
