Stephen Curry Wears Shin Guard to Protect Leg Injury

Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry vowed he was going to find a way to play through a shin bruise, and he's enlisting the help of some unique protective gear to do so. 

According to ESPN.com's Ethan Sherwood Strauss, Curry is slated to don soccer-style shin guards Friday night against the Portland Trail Blazers as a preventative measure.

"I've got to bring out my Messi mindset tonight, so we'll see," Curry said, per Strauss. 

According to Diamond Leung of the Bay Area News Group, the reigning NBA MVP will sport Pro-S Elite shin guards from the company G-Form when he hits the floor.

Strauss offered a look at Curry warming up with the protective padding on: 



"I don’t want to look like a football player out there with pads, but also, I want one that will protect me enough," Curry said, per the San Francisco Chronicle's Rusty Simmons.

Curry missed back-to-back games against the Dallas Mavericks and Houston Rockets on Dec. 30 and Dec. 31 with a lower-leg injury before the shin injury cropped up in his return Jan. 2 against the Denver Nu ...
