Steph Curry Records 1st 2,000-Point Season of Career

Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry enters Wednesday's game against the Los Angeles Clippers with 2,016 points during the 2015-16 season, marking the first time in his career he's topped 2,000 in a single campaign, per Sportsnet Stats.

Though he still leads the league in scoring average (30.1) by a comfortable margin, Curry actually limped to the 2,000-point plateau, putting up just 19 points in Monday's 109-104 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves while making only six of his 19 field-goal attempts and two of his nine three-point tries.

Of course, Curry's poor performance in Saturday's 87-79 loss to the San Antonio Spurs drew far more attention, with the 28-year-old point guard making just four of his 18 field-goal attempts and one of his 12 three-point attempts in a 14-point outing that arguably represents his worst showing of the season.

To be fair, Curry is still averaging 27.1 points per game during March, as his two-game cold streak was proceeded by five consecutive outings with 27 or more points.
