Spurs Set Single-Season Franchise-Wins Record: Details, Comments, Reaction

The San Antonio Spurs are in the midst of their best regular season to date, and on Saturday they announced they've set a franchise record with 64 wins. 

The record-setter came via a 102-95 victory over the Toronto Raptors on Saturday at home, where they are 39-0 this season. Kawhi Leonard and LaMarcus Aldridge combined for 64 points in the win. 

Their undefeated performance at home this season is a league record, per ESPN Stats & Info. 

Yet head coach Gregg Popovich wasn’t even remotely impressed with that feat, per Jeff McDonald of the San Antonio Express-News:



Part of Popovich’s reservation is probably because he knows what lies ahead in the playoffs. 

The Spurs continue to set milestones, yet they almost assuredly won’t even claim the top seed in their conference: The Warriors have a four-game cushion with six games to play.
