In a battle of stingy defenses, the Chicago Bulls (10-5) came up with the key stops down the stretch in a 92-89 victory over the San Antonio Spurs (14-4), Monday at the United Center.

Pau Gasol led the way for the Bulls on offense, scoring 18 points to go with 13 rebounds, four assists and three blocks.

Jimmy Butler pitched in with 14 points and led the Bulls defensive effort on the other end. Kawhi Leonard scored 25 points, but it took him 21 shots and Butler all but eliminated him in the waning minutes.

Leonard was joined in double-figures by LaMarcus Aldridge (21) and Tony Parker (13).

The Spurs will get their shot at revenge on March 10 in San Antonio.
